Hello! Thanks for checking out my website.  Feels like I haven’t poured my random craziness into this blog in a while.

Winter is in full swing here in Toronto.  I’m still spoiled by the winter I spent bombing between Los Angeles and the Mexican Riviera on a luxury cruise ship two years ago.  I spent that winter away, most of that next year just hanging out in California, and I have never been the same since.  I got back just in time for last winter but I hadn’t resolved the personal issues that led me to seek a change of scenery in the first place so I was still away from Toronto and generally hiding from life.

Now I’m bringing the action and satisfaction, out in the big city, making moves and shaking things up.  I’m having fun, but I am definitely not cut out for this winter business.

It’s been a great few weeks since I moved into the new pad.  Living smack in the middle of everywhere you go downtown is pretty great.  We’ve got the green screen studio set up, have already run a few successful tests, and are almost ready to shoot a few new videos I’ve been cooking up.

Speaking of videos, this weekend is going to be the first table read of my next big movie – Julian Assange and The Double Damn Burger.  I cannot effin’ wait to hear those words come out of the mouths of the people I wrote them for.

In other work news, I’ve started working with a few new clients in just the last week or so on some really cool stuff.  One project in particular is an animation project.  I haven’t done an animation project in several years.  I’m really looking forward to putting that in front of you.  Stay tuned!

• Been playing a lot of Beatles Rock Band.  Got up to 99% on Expert on a few songs.  Have you played it?  What are you scoring?
• Last week was pretty much all about preparing the Benny Bunny Meets Benny Banana print edition which will make its spectacular debut at at Otis Lounge for First Thursdays on October 1.
• Been trying to find time to make a catch-you-up video but finding a little quiet spot of time and space to do it is proving really tough.
• Not having a camera of my own is hurting my blogging ability.
• Super Party is my outlet, more and more.  If you want to know what’s happening with me, that’s the place to look, even though it’s dressed up and psychedelicized.
• My schedule for the coming months seems to be shaping up.  Looking like I’ll head to Los Angeles at the end of October, do my West Coast trip in mid-to-late November, and then hit the East Coast for a bit and be back in Ontario for Christmas.

But enough about me!  How are YOU doing??

OH my word, so long since an update!  I can’t believe it.  Days have been flying by on me, as I have been swimming in code.  Here is my typical day over the last week or so…

• Get up about one in the afternoon because I was up until about six AM the previous night.
• Make coffee, maybe something to eat.  Probably not.  Check e-mail.  Probably about twenty new messages, and of those maybe two need attention.  Star them for later.
• Look at yesterday’s progress on the client’s site ‘just to take a look at it’.  Start picking at it.
• Look at clock.  It’s about 7 PM.  Holy shit, I need to eat.  I don’t eat.
• Keep tweaking and testing in a prepetual state of ‘just another minute and then I’m going to think about other things I need to do’.
• 9 PM, still going, now I actually eat something.
• Midnight, still working, start to think about putting it away for the day.  1 AM, finally put it away. Open my site ‘just to take a look at it’.
• Start tweaking my site.  Not this one, another one.
• 5 AM.  Eyes are burning.  Must stop.  Will just check email and Facebook for a minute before I lay down.
• An hour later, I’m nodding off as I’m typing.  Finally collapse in bed as the sun’s coming up.

And that’s been about it, not counting going to rehearsal.

Awesomely.  Last night we had our dress rehearsal.  You will shit your pants when you see who is drumming for us (hopefully not literally).

So that’s what I’ve been up to.

The Facebook fans know something you don’t know if you’re not on my Facebook Fan page.  I’ll make a major announcement about it after this Friday’s event.

Today I got a lot done even though it felt kind of uneventful.  Mostly website programming for one of my other websites.  Tweaking code, and I am not even a code guy.  I promised my peoples that when my Facebook fan count reached 500, I would do something special for them so I am in the middle of making that happen.  While you’re at it, visit my Facebook Fan page and Become a Fan yourself.  Then you can get in on it when this special gift gets handed out.  Let’s see how quickly we can reach 600 Fans.

Can you imagine if you had a metal roof?  A metal roof on your structure.

For a minute I was going to fly up to San Francisco, but then I thought that once you account for checking in on the Departures side and disembarking and waiting for luggage on the arrivals end, I don’t think I would actually save any time. And seeing the California countryside is something I wanted to do. Getting a drive sounded like the more luxuriant option.

Originally I was thinking about heading up to San Francisco on Thursday or Friday but I got a ride offered to me on Tuesday and had to take it! Just some dude from Craiglist responding to my ad about “Hey, who’s got room for me in their vehicle?”

The reality ended up being very different.

Got a little snack at Jack in the Box (saving the consumption of a meal for the best fast food place in the world! Wait for it…)

So what do you think we’re doing with the car unloaded at the side of the highway?

Busted tire! But Joe fixed it in record time.

And then we stopped for a late lunch at the best fast food place in the world. Now, I am a serious connoisseur of fast food burgers. I have had many tasty fast food burgers in my time.

But the best fast food burger is In-N-Out. Hands down. At home, it’s the Burger King Whopper. But from all over, In-N-Out is what’s ’bout it.

After that business with the tire falling apart, you’ll never guess what happened down the road.

A blown out tire. Dude had to drive a mile on the metal to get to a service station, where we waited an hour and a half for a mechanic to show and put a new tire on. It’s cool, it was a neat spot. I mostly just sat on a rock and read.

It was a long drive, but I made it safe and sound. Last night we went out a little bit and today was a big day of walking around. I’ll post pics from all that tonight. Right now we’re going to watch 60s Spider-Man cartoons and start to think about dinner.

And then we finished up the night at the after-hours jazz joint that we like to go to.
