I am sitting in a sketchy internet cafe in Mazatlan, Mexico listening to Ludacris on my ipod and doing some internetting.
I finally got word of my actual departure date: March 14. They have my replacement booked and everything.
Originally, my dream was that I would get off the ship and just stay in L.A. for a while but then I found out that you need to apply for something called “Local leave” in order to not go right back to your country of origin, and the USA is the only country that does not grant local leave. Then I’m thinking, “what if I just go to Vancouver instead of Toronto and then turn around and come right back to L.A.? I might still ask about that.
Getting excited about getting back to my real work. Being in a corporate environment like this has been educational. We work seven days a week, nine AM to midnight most days. I hope that these work habits stay deep. They say it takes 30 days for a habit to stick and I’ve been keeping this schedule for four months so I guess I should be OK.
Main thing: two comic books to draw. I want to have the first two issues of Super Party ready for summer and conventions and hopefully get a publisher on board with me.
Then I want to get some illustration gigs going. And paint some ‘fine art’. Lots to think about in terms of getting some dough coming in.
blah blah blah rambly ramble. anyone got any posters, album covers, illustrations, art commissions need drawing? Any events or shows need hosting?
