I was talking on the phone with my Dad today, chit-chatting about this and that.

He tried a couple of episodes of Mad Men, but he didn’t really like it. He’s not looking very forward to his upcoming trip to Japan. His social calendar is packed pretty full for the next couple of weeks with a whole bunch of dinners with friends he doesn’t get to see very often.

Then I told him that I got a new idea for a comic book series, and that I’m trying to get the first issue finished before I go away for four months.

When I told him about how the first story is about a talking bunny, a guy with a banana for a head, and a crime boss who is a gorilla, he responded with an “uh huh…” that was the most confused I have ever heard him sound in my whole life.

But I am sure that when he finally reads it, he will love it.
