The Game-Changer

SEAN WARD’S MONDAY MEDITATION

Can't Sleep! Too excited to work!

So I just woke up and got to wondering what I would write for a Monday Meditation today.  I thought of blowing it off because I’m in the middle of a new project and it’s all I want to do.  I went to bed last night very satisfied with the page I had drawn for a new comic book.  I could have stayed up all night starting the next one.  I felt like I did on page 8 of The Sean Ward Electric Comics Freak-Out! #1 back in 2003 when I was so excited about the work I was doing that I couldn’t even sleep.

And that’s it right there, isn’t it?

There are times when we feel like we don’t know what our next move should be, and then – when we are really, really lucky – there are times like these when we feel what I can only call The Holy Spirit coming through.

I’m sitting here trying to think of what you can do to know how to get on that track instantly, but I think it holds out on you.  It waits for you to be more than ready for it, and then claws into you like a kitten.

If you could find it on command, it wouldn’t be so special when it happens, would it?

What I’m talking about here is distinct from my earlier article about motivation.  What I was talking about there was finding the courage and stamina to keep active once you’ve had the vision.  What I’m talking about here is a game-changing inspiration that you know is going to set the course of your life for the next couple of years.

I’m starting from zero again.  I’m building something brand new.  It’s very exciting.

yep, I’ve had a few nights like that. That’s a cool ass tree!

You know what’s funny? I have received more feedback about that tree on that page than any other detail that’s been singled out. People have always loved it. It is actually a faithful rendering of a tree that was outside my window at that time. Those windows were awesome even though, because of there being no window coverings, some friends were once able to see me and my girlfriend at the time having sex from their place on the sidewalk.

and it’s things like that is why I moved out of the city and the isolation and away from peeping eyes of the country. That tree is just a good design element.
