SEAN WARD’S MONDAY MEDITATION
Artists and creative people know better than most about the truth behind the idea that you create your own reality. We have created a new reality every time we finish a new work. Watching the external world transform through the work that we do is one of the best things about being an artist. But many artists I know are still struggling, despite increasing success. If we are creating our reality, why do we struggle?
Recently, I’ve been getting upset about the way certain ‘goals’ were not working out, and even started to wonder if this was all baloney and that I’d wasted the focus of most of my adult life investigating this stuff. I decided to stop caring about it, put my DVDs and books about creating your reality away, and let whatever was going to happen do so without my trying to affect it one way or the other. It was almost instantaneous how as soon as I stopped trying to get what I wanted, what I wanted landed right in my lap.
So I learned a few things about how it works:
- It knows what you really want.
- It never happens the way you think it’s going to.
- It never happens on your schedule.
- It waits until you’ve either forgotten about it or given up.
Basically, it doesn’t want you to get an ego about being able to make it happen, and it wants you to not get emotional about it either way.
