I am jealous of the comics nerds right now. I am especially jealous of the teenagers, like grades 7 to 9 age, who are at that age where pop culture feels like a big show being put on just for them.
When I was that age the 1989 Batman was a bit of a memory, Batman Returns was coming out, and then I spent the rest of high school being a total comics geek with no good comics movies to get behind. It was just a quiet faith that one day a Spider-Man movie will come out, and they will actually make a new Star Wars trilogy (be careful what you wish for, huh?)
Now these kids whose lives revolve around superheroes and comic books have a new ‘best comic book movie ever’ coming out once or twice a year.
Iron Man 2 is about to come out and there’s no reason to believe it’s not going to be the bomb.
Then they get Tron 2 later in the summer and that looks absolutely stellar.
I can’t imagine how awesome it must be to be a fan and feel like this is all for you, having grown up watching Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, and the Fantastic Four movies (tolerable when you consider that they were made for 8-year olds).
There’s a few big movies coming out this summer. What are you most looking forward to seeing?
