Yeah, sign-in options include Twitter and Facebook. It's at the point now where I kind of expect a site to have Disqus installed. If they have a thing where you need to sign up to comment and signing up is only for that one site, I'm outta there! Facebook Connect and Twitter Connect have kind of spoiled us that way. But it's not even really spoiling, it's making connection easier which is the whole point.

Twitter seems to be the common thread. It's as though Facebook is how you get into the social media scene, and Twitter is for the people who get serious about it. And then Tumblr and Posterous and FriendFeed and the rest of those are for people who get really, really into it.

I'm kind of jealous that you've got reading blogs worked into your routine. I get so busy with other things that I kind of let them pile up before reading them all in a big gang run. And I def. make a point to comment on as many as I can, I'm just still working on doing it every day.

I wake up in the morning (hell, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night), and the first thing I check is Twitter. Briefly scan it, hop in the shower, then put some clothes on. Then I go into my gmail and reply to any outstanding emails, if there are none I make myself some breakfast and sit down with my Google Reader and read through the previous days blogs, while replying to Twitter messages.

Throughout the day, at any given time, I am ALWAYS on Twitter. I even work later to make up for the time I'm spending on Twitter. I occasionally check Facebook, more than usual if I have a new cute facebook friend. Some days I post on my blog a lot, others, not so much. I try to comment on as many peoples blogs as I can.. engage engage engage. Although the funny thing is, I don't think twice about it, and only post when I have something to say. People talk about all these lessons of social media, but for me it comes so naturally. Maybe because I'm legitimately... social?

which site is your main one to get the word out? Twitter? Facebook? Tumblr?

And you will be pleased as punch to know that as of Disqus' last big update, it's got Facebook Connect built into it.

Well said! I suspect those new to all this will find this valuable, lucky for them you took the time.

And yup, I need a commenting system like Disqus on my blog, it's bad I don't have one yet, but can't decide between it and FB connect.

"It's circular flows of conversation" - That could be the title of the book! And I have no doubt that a book and that kind of success is in your future!

Thanks so much not only for rollin' thru and throwing in your two cents, but for the level of detail! Anyone who is familiar with you will know that this is really valuable information.

I've got a super party happening when it comes to my social media usage! I use Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Disqus Posterous on a daily. I use different clients for Twitter Tweetdeck for personal, web for @mtvcanada, Brizzly for managing 4 Twitter accounts I have access to. Facebook connects me with heaps of people mostly different from my Twitter friends. I really love Tumblr, I have and RSS of my blog in photos as well as another blog 'Oh Casie' that's a collection of shit I find around the internet. My posts publish to my Twitter feed. My main blog publishes to Facebook. It's circular flows of conversation. It fits with my add.
