The Sean Ward Electric Comics Freak-Out! 5

The Sean Ward Electric Comics Freak-Out! 5
July 2005

I was about to launch into a long story arc involving The Changing Color. It was going to be a massive story about love, creativity, art, friendship, consciousness, loyalty… basically I was going to distill my entire worldview into a comic book story. As I was preparing, I made the acquaintance of an upstart comic book publisher who wanted to take me on. We would launch a series in full color, available in all of the comic book shops. This publisher laid out the marketing plan by which I would do two more of the underground comics, hit the convention circuit with them to grow the buzz, and then release the #1 of the new series in the fall. So I put off that big Changing Color story, and cooked up the idea for this book and the next one just to fill those two last underground books that the publisher wanted. We got this book out, had a super-fun party for it in a converted munitions plant, and then the publisher went out of business in a very public and high-profile manner.
