Here is me with Greg Hawkes of The Cars (the keyboardist, so the guy who plays my favorite part of my favorite Cars song). We are performing a spontaneous rendition of Yesterday, with Greg on mandolin. I found this picture on Facebook. I hope I find some video.
And then here is Me and Jerry Levitan getting interviewed together. Jerry interviewed John Lennon when he was 14 years old and turned it into the animated film I Met The Walrus, which was nominated for the Best Animated Short Oscar last year.
Note in the Special Thanks at the end: Biggie Smalls!
Now here is a method for how to party at the Beatles convention. You can do it your own way, but here are some suggestions.
First, go to the theatre to see the band play your favorite Beatles songs.
Special Guest: the great Ronnie Spector. Any 60s girl group fans out there? You know what I’m talking about.
Everyone whipped out the cameras for Ronnie, but I was too busy dancing and shouting at her from in front of the stage.
Next, head down to the bottom of the hotel and join the jam pit.
Don’t worry about it if certain people are brutal dictators about you playing the tambourine exactly the way it sounds on the recorded version of the song. When they take their tambourine away from you, just jump on the keyboard and fuck up Nowhere Man.
Then stay up until six A.M. revelling in the aftermath of the VIP party in the Presidential Suite, discussing the future and getting philosophical with the radical wing of the fest’s organizers.
Here’s looking forward to next year….
