This is some random late-night blogging right here. Because I miss you.
I have been on a creative tear lately. I have been hauling ass like I haven’t done in years. Drawing, writing, emailing, hounding people, phone calls. It’s chaos around here. But I’m the calm little center of it and I feel wonderful.
To my favorite bloggers whose blogs I haven’t been leaving comments on: I think of you often and you had better be ready for a big barrage of catch-up comments when I get over this hill.
To everyone on the forums I frequent who haven’t been getting my screwball eloquence added to the discussion: I’ll be back around and things will be fun again, I promise.
I haven’t had so much time to be checking in about adventures and goings-on, but that’s largely because there haven’t been any. My outings these days consist of going for a stroll around the block when I can’t take sitting at my desk any longer. That photo at the top of this entry is from the only time I’ve been out doing something social since going to Kitchener on the radio, what, two weekends ago? That’s Keri the Canadian Explorer on her way into an abandoned building that we checked out. This was the only photo that I got to take before my camera decided it didn’t want to take part. I thought the battery died but no, it worked fine the next day. So just one photo. Check out the swagger, Keri!
Have you been coming around here a long time, like over a year and a half? Do you remember when I used to write those articles called The Monday Meditation? Those were a bit much to keep up weekly on top of everything else I do, but I still want to write those from time to time. I have one bubbling up in me about how you have to keep your plates spinning instead of abandoning what you’ve built when you try something new. I wonder how long it will be before I get to that.
I am having a lot of fun drawing The Beatles and dreaming about California. If you haven’t yet, please click this and make a donation to my San Francisco fundraiser!
Benny Bunny Meets Benny Banana is drawing to a close and I have a decision to make: shall I start a new story right away, or do single-page gags until after the Beatles show? Truth is, I can’t tell which sounds like more work than the other. What do you think?
