The Ballad of John & Yoko – You get the Print, 10% Goes to Charity, and You Help me get to San Francisco!

THE FACTS:

  1. I am headlining a Beatles-themed Art show in San Francisco next month (September)
  2. I need help to get there (money)
  3. A $30 donation towards my San Francisco fund gets you a limited edition art print and supports the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Revolution 9.9.9 – The Beatles Art Show in San Francisco – opens on September 9, 2009. I’m excited to have been invited to take part in this exhibition in the city that hosted the last-ever official Beatles concert in 1966.

But I need your help to get there!

I will be showing three new Beatles-themed pieces at the show, available as limited edition prints. The first of the three pieces is now available to you in a special advance edition.

The Ballad of John & Yoko is my cover version of the classic song, telling the story of March 1969 in a big comic strip. It’s drawn by hand and colored by me in a gorgeous, full-color 11″x17″ print that’s ready for framing.

Please click on the button below to make a donation to my San Francisco fundraiser. A donation of $30 or more and the print is sent to you, postpaid within Canada and the U.S.A. 10% of all donations received goes to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of a huge John Lennon fan.

Why the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Back in The Beatlemania Shoppe days in Toronto, one of the regulars was a guy named Matt McMahon. Matt made friends easily with customers and staff alike. Matt was one of the first young artists who got into my scene, shooting documentary footage of some of my early comic book release parties for a future feature length documentary.

But Matt’s movie will never get made because Matt passed away a couple of years ago from Cystic Fibrosis, and I have wanted to do something for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – in his memory – ever since.

Matt was huge John Lennon fan so this is the right time. 10% from all donations received between August 1 and September 1 (my target leaving date for San Francisco) will be given to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Matt’s memory.

Support two causes with one click! Donate any amount (it all helps). Help me reach my $2000 target! I’ll keep you updated as I go.

EDIT: Fundraiser is closed!  Thank you very much for your support!

We all remember Matt and think of him often. Any time we hear some John Lennon music, we think of Matt. He brings the spirit of the music alive.
