Every week (approximately), I shine the spotlight upon a site that has made me laugh, think, feel, or run. This week, we shine the spotlight on dontevenreply.com – Emails from an Asshole.
This is prank calling for the Internet age. The concept is simple. The owner of the site replies to classified ads in some bizarre or annoying manner, and posts the whole exchange for all the world to enjoy. It is bloody hilarious.
I remember I once saw a book in a bookstore called Letters From A Nut. It was a whole book of letters some guy had written to companies, and their replies. I really hoped I would get that book for my birthday that year but I did not. Anyways, E-mails from an Asshole ups the ante on that concept because people placing classified ads do not have PR spokespeople and usually end up swearing at the guy when he’s writing to sell them vintage liquor that’s a month old, get them to spend their vacation in his apartment in the bad part of town, or trade a car for his wife.
This site is bloody hilarious.
