Revolution 9.9.9 – a dramatic and intense exhibition that explores the extent and magnitude of popular culture’s biggest influence – The Beatles.

EDIT: What a fantastic night! Thanks to everyone for making it a hit. Click here for Party Pics!

Revolution 9.9.9 opens 09/09/09 (Number Nine… Number Nine… Number Nine…) at Space Gallery in San Francisco, the city that was the location of The Beatles’ last ever official concert in 1966, and runs to September 14.

The exhibition opens the same day as the release of The Beatles Rock Band video game and their re-mastered albums, exploring the band’s unmatched impact on popular culture through paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, film and performance.

Artists include:
Sean Ward (that’s me!)
Marco Mejia
Julia Sanders
Tandy Kunkle

I need your help to get me to San Francisco, and support the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of  huge John Lennon fan!  Click here for details about my San Francisco fundraiser!

Revolution 9.9.9 opens with a reception on Wednesday Sept. 9, and will be capped with a live event featuring a performance by The Vows who will play two sets: the first as the psychedelic Beatles, and the second – after a drastic and radical costume change – as the Beatlemania-era mop tops.

Revolution 9.9.9 is presented by Space Gallery, and produced by Rand Shuler. Space Gallery is located at 1141 Polk Street, San Francisco, California. Visit them on the web at www.spacegallerysf.com

  • Sean....wow.
Your enthusiasm and passion for the Fab Four is even greater than mine! I love it.
Your art is as vivid, funny, witty, and colorful as you are - a Beatles fan's delight.
Rock on with your bad self.
  • Thank you! I will take that and run with it. one of the things I want to do is start getting more involved in the Beatles conventions and all that stuff, make myself the go-to guy for Beatles cartoon/comics images.
  • Hi,

My name is Ed Harris and I live in Liverpool and play at the Cavern with my band The Media. I'm in San Francisco this week and will try and get along on Wednesday.

  • That is so cool!! Thanks for that!!
  • Now _that's_ a good-looking flyer.

Hope the fundraising is going fantastic, GOBS of money POURing in.
  • Your Beatles are so cute! But I like the audience member to the left of the blue one's elbow, he's really enjoying the show.
  • That blue one is the good Sgt. Pepper himself! See: http://eil.com/Gallery/159484b.jpg
  • Hot Damn!

I totally need to look into getting in on this.

I'll search for hidden "Paul is Dead" messages soon.. and get back to you if I find any.
  • Maybe we should do a Paul Is Dead scavenger hunt!
  • It's a crazy enough idea that I just might do it. I haven't been there in years!
  • It's gonna be a party!
  • Sweet! The Beatles remind me so much of being a child - the happy memories anyways.

I wish I could go to San Fransisco - road trip!

    ~Good luck~
  • You should totally road trip it to SF!! What a party!
