Ancient Beatles Art

I have been going through the original hand-drawn pages of my Beatles comic book from 2003 this evening.  I have not looked at this stuff in a couple of years!  On top of the stack was this beauty of a piece of shit that I drew as a promo image, but never actually used.  This has never seen the light of day before right now!

Beatles poster

It’s not particularly good, but its got its charm.  I remember I didn’t use it at the time because I didn’t like how John’s flower came out.

  • Awe hell, all ya gotta do is go in and fix up that flower, if you ever decide to publish it with your old Beatle comic one day!
  • It would probably be less work to just draw another one!
  • How do you figure?
  • Because I wouldn't even know where to begin trying to fix that flower. Maybe doing it over again was an exaggeration, but still...
  • USE THE FORCE, LUKE!

(also get you a light box. redux that flower, on a fresh sheet of printer paper.. scan.. paste.. erase the original one.. magic!)

(Maybe not all that "work safe"... because it's so evil!)
  • just use your computer screen or the window, and put the original under it (assuming it's not like card stock or something) and then you can trace everything, or just fix the flower part (i think mike was saying) and paste it over it digitally.

light boxes pretty much do the same thing as window but cost like 150$ more.
  • it's best to work from the original.. so the proportions are correct.. and the scanned line art won't be fuzzy. Cheepest method is tape original to a sunlight window, add fresh sheet on to and trace and improve to problem area.. you don't have to redraw the entire thing.
  • Or I could just leave it as a sketchbook piece and get to work on my Hey Jude and I Am The Walrus pieces for the art show!
  • wow Sean, this is cool, i just downloaded it and made it the background. btw love all the beatles albums you gave me, i haven't really listened to anything since, I'm really glad you came here to visit, i hope i can make it to Toronto some or somehow get you out here again. And I can't thank you enough for helping us get the website up.
    How all is well!

The latest I will be coming back is the beginning of September to take part in an art show in San Fran. And if I'm coming, I might as well stick around for a while and to go A.P.E. in October. So in the in-between, we've got madd vids to make!!
