This afternoon I thought that myself, Dwayne, and Graham were going out to eat.  No, I misunderstood.  We were going to High Park for a picnic. It was Derek’s birthday picnic with the crew from Wildlife!

This picnic was an awesome surprise because Julia – Derek’s girl – had put together a bunch of eats and brought a box & bottle of wine.

The arrival…

After much confusion and discombobulation when getting everyone together in the first place, we made our way down a bunch of twisty paths to a spot by the lake.

The wine cups are out.  Now we’re partyin’!

Not sure if Dwayne is feeling the same beat as Dean in that one.

Time to eat…

That’s birthday boy Derek!

How did I not get a picture of the awesome card I drew for him??  It had a cat playing guitar with a lightning bolt for a body.

Derek started throwing food at the geese.  Everyone else told him to stop it but I told him to throw more, right before I started throwing serving-spoonfuls of pasta salad at/too them.

We were feeding them grapes, by the way.  You have to bite the grapes in half or they’ll be too big to fit down the geese’s throats.

Lots more went on – we haven’t got to the part where Dean and Derek got up in the tree.  We will cover that a little later.  I need to also post about joining the band for a one-night-only exclusive gig later that night.  Plus all the pics from Friday’s epic happenings.
