The Bran Flakes – I Wonder Where My Grandmother Is

The Bran Flakes are an awesome group who collaborates across borders. They were one of the first groups to use a cut & paste approach to making their music when the Internet was brand new. I have never seen them live but their shows are over the top with costumes and papier mache heads and chaos.

They have a new album out and they are cranking out videos for the songs at a furious rate that makes me think that they are going to have a video for every song on the album. I like this one, I Wonder Where My Grandmother Is, because the video animation is awesome and the song is a bona fide pop number while keeping The Bran Flakes’ sense of the surreal and bizarre intact.

A funny note: I discovered the Bran Flakes on my own, on the Internet.  Then I got talking to a guy called Otis Fodder on the Internet, I don’t remember why or how.  We became buds, then I found out that he is half of this group I’ve liked for a long time!  A weird moment to say the least.
